Dr. Adelugba-Akande is a Family Physician and a full-time staff member at Alberta Health Services, where she provides both Emergency Room and Hospital coverage. She also serves as a Preceptor with Alberta’s Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP), mentoring medical students from the University of Calgary in the emergency department. Born in Southwest Nigeria, Dr. Adelugba-Akande completed her early education there before moving to South Africa as a teenager, where she earned her undergraduate degrees. With approximately nine years of experience in Family Medicine, including postgraduate training, her practice encompasses patients of all ages, with a special focus on women’s health.
Dr Omorefe is a Family Physician. He was born in the ancient city of Benin in Southern Nigeria where he grew up and had his early education. He attended the prestigious University of Benin for his medical education and bagged the mbbs degree. He had his family medicine training at the University Teaching Hospital. He has over 15 years working experience as a family physician in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He is happily married with 3 children. He loves football( soccer) ,table tennis and supports Manchester United. Dr Omorefe enjoys all areas of Family medicine practice but has special interest in Mental health
Rhoda Agbabiaka is an accomplished physiotherapist with over 24 years of clinical experience across three countries. As Lead Physiotherapist at Medical Rock Clinic, she brings a wealth of expertise in the assessment and treatment of orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, and neurological conditions.
Before relocating to Alberta, Canada in 2012, Rhoda served as a Senior Physiotherapist in the Republic of Ireland for seven years. She holds a thesis-based Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, where her research focused on evidence-based management of neurological conditions, particularly stroke rehabilitation.
Throughout her career, Rhoda has worked in diverse healthcare settings including outpatient clinics, acute care medical units, and surgical environments. Her practice is rooted in patient-centered care, emphasizing health education, strength training, and functional rehabilitation. Rhoda adopts a holistic approach to therapy, empowering clients to restore function, enhance their quality of life, and age with confidence.
Outside of her professional role, Rhoda is a devoted family woman who enjoys swimming, traveling, and community involvement. She is also a budding tennis enthusiast and advocates for the importance of an active lifestyle at every stage of life.
Our social worker, Esther, from the Highland Primary Care Network, is an integral part of the health care team at The Rock Medical Center. Working alongside your physician, Esther supports patients of all ages with mental, social, and physical health concerns as part of the Highland PCN medical home team.
Together with your family doctor, Esther provides assistance with:
Mental health support, including timely access to care and guidance in navigating community resources and programs
Empowerment and goal setting, offering tools and strategies to help you take control of your health through individualized care plans aimed at improving overall function
Ongoing outreach and education, including screening and system navigation related to community and government services
Your registered nurse, Allyson, with the Highland Primary Care Network is part of the team of health care professionals at The Rock Medical Center. Alongside your physician, the Highland Primary Care Network medical home team registered nurse supports patients of all ages with physical, social and mental health concerns .
With your family doctor this includes assisting with:
- assistance with medical decision making
- support and tools to make positive change and help patients take control of their health
- individualized care plans
- ongoing outreach, education, and screening with things like chronic disease management, weight management, general nutrition support, diabetes management
On her days off, Allyson enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and her family dog. She also enjoys running around and tries to get involved in any local events!
